Back in Action

For those of you not already aware, The Georgetown University Hoyas Men's Basketball Team has received an invitation to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in in 5 arduous seasons. Yes, we left a lot on the floor of the Garden during the BET. Yes, we received a mediocre 7 seed. Yes, we're staring at one bitch of a matchup against Ohio State on their turf. Despite all this, I couldn't be happier.

Here are ten reasons why:

10) It's 75 and sunny in the District. If you can't be happy about that you need to get over yourself. Seriously. Get over yourself.

9) GW got jobbed and will get slaughtered by Duke IF they can manage to survive the onslaught of the UNC - Wilmington Seahawks. This is made even more challenging by the fact that the games will be played in Greensboro NC. Colonials, Aloha means get the hell out of the bracket.

8) Jeff

7) Green

6) The rise of the Big East Empire. With a record 8 teams in the Tourney we are poised to dominate the field.

5) The rest of our bracket stinks:

Until a week ago, Oklahoma was a bubble team from the galactically terrible Big 12.

BC is an inferior Jesuit institution.

Wisconsin lost to my cousin's AAU team. Twice.

Florida just won the SEC but shows signs of being overrated. Beating LSU is somewhat impressive, but they should have lost to South Carolina. Bill Donovan's squads are traditionally paper tigers.

and Villanova... well... They're very, very good (with all ten eyeballs).

4) Most of my friends will be in a much better mood for the next 2-3 days.

3) We don't have to hang another doofy looking NIT-Apple banner in McDonough... Couldn't bear to look at it.

2) I have yet another excuse to be "sick" on a Friday.

1) Respect is back, fear is next.

Go Hoyas.
